i got the mac match master foundation in November 2011 but i first  saw  it on august that same year while i was on holiday. i remember going to a mac counter with my sister to  pick up her studio fix plus powder and the sales rep was trying to show her this foundation, i was like don't even look at it! . the only mac liquid foundation i'd used at the time was the mac studio fix fluid and my skin didn't like it at all so i didn't want her going near that one.

when i got back to Nigeria i realized that the bare minerals powder foundation i was using was breaking me out badly. i immediately started looking for something to replace it with. i did some heavy googling,  before i decided  to try this, lol . the reason i finally gave in was because a lot people with oily skin really liked it and were raving about it. i had someone help me buy this and i've used it quite a lot.

the mac matchmaster is different from some other mac foundations for a couple of reasons. firslty the shades are numbered differntly. mac decided to use a neutral coloring system as opposed to their normal NW/NC color system . mac  also claims that the matchmaster foundation is a neutral toned foundation so people who are NW and NC can fall under one shade in the matchmaster.
i didn't get matched in a store before buying this, i used the match master color conversion chart. in the chat those who used mac NW 45 ( which i am) were in the shade 8.0.

the mac matchmaster foundation comes with a pump, thank goodness! cause i know the studio fix fluid didn't come with one and it just made using it difficult. the pump gives you great control when dispensing the product and its practically the same  with the one the fix+ comes with.

mac matchmaster foundation (left), mac matchmaster (right)
the mac matchmaster comes in a 35ml bottle making it the biggest mac liquid foundation till date. you can see that clearly in the picture above. it has a smell to it but that doesn't bother me, I've used foundations (revlon colorstay) that smell more weird.

WHAT MAC SAYS
"New foundation  technology using translucent pigments  to enable fully personalized finish influenced by subtleties of your own skin's undertone. Moiusturising demi-matte finish. meduim buildable coverage.
Line-reducing soft-focus powders"

WHAT I THINK
this is a good foundation. like i said in a previous post i have sensitive oily skin and with that said  there are very few foundations that don't break me out. what i love love love  about this foundation is the way it controls oil. when i wear this i can go 6 hours straight without blotting or touching up.

I've seen and heard a lot f people say that this foundation gives light to medium coverage but i think it gives medium to full coverage. when i started using this foundation i had a lot of spots and it did a pretty good job covering them without the help of concealer.

it has a demi-matte finish which makes idle for those with normal to oily skin. i wouldn't recommend this foundation to those with dry skin because it tends to highlight the dry areas or dry patches on the skin.

I haven't been using this of recent but that doesn't mean that there is anything wrong with it, i've just been using cream based products more. my sister who has normal to oily skin and  is in the shade 7.5 still uses hers everyday and her skin just loves it.

p.s i happen to have two of these and would be giving one away in a give away post coming up soon. so you guys should be on the alert, lol.

I did some shopping last week especially online and I believe I've actually done serious damage this time!, lol. I had someone coming back from the uk so i just used that opportunity to buy some of the things I've had on my wish list for ages. some  people have asked how  i buy stuff online here in Nigeria and the answer is simple i use my Nigerian debit cards or ATM cards as they are popularly called here. the GTB master cards pay a couple of websites, i'm very sure it pays itunes. I know  people who bank with access bank and first bank and they use their ATM visa or master cards to buy stuff online all the time. I also use them to pay in shops where card payments are accepted and believe me when i say these cards are accepted everywhere, everywhere!.

so here is everything

*the real techniques brushes are from Victoria health
*the luscious lashes 70 piece false lashes are from Amazon.
*the things from mac are mostly from selfridges. They came in the yellow envelope in the first picture. I got one of the lipsticks and gel eyeliner in Enugu here.

REAL TECHNIQUES

I got the real techniques core collection brush set. the contouring brush and buffing brush feel amazing. I can't wait to use them properly.

MAC

I got 5 five mac lipsticks, 2 eyeliner brushes, 2 eye shadows, 1 gel eyeliner and 1 mac studio finish concealer. I bought  one of the mac lipsticks and the gel eyeliner in Enugu here. I don't really wear lipsticks that much but i want to now so i hope these ones work for me.

LIPSTICKS
from left to right
*mac rebel lipstick (very dark purple)
*mac Russian red lipstick ( red)
*mac touch lipstick ( i got this from skin port, Enugu) (nude)
*mac girl about town (pink)
mac ruby woo lipstick ( bright red)

EYE SHADOW
from left to right
*mac eye shadow in soba
*mac eye shadow in chrome yellow

*mac studio finish concealer in nw40
*mac gel eyeliner in black track ( i got this from red wrappings, Enugu)
*mac 211 eyeliner brush
*mac 209 eyeliner brush

FALSE LASHES

This was the best of them all, lol. I got this from Amazon and it was freaking  cheap compared to what i usually pay for one pair of lashes. I haven't tried them out though so I can't say if they are good or not. I'll be posting a review after I've tried them out.

so there is everything.

please don't hesitate to comment or ask questions. I love feedback.xx

hey guys,
hope y'all are good. sorry I've been M.I.A for some time now but the story is just long.*sigh*. I'm going to keep the posts coming from now on so you guys should please bear with me.

I got the clarisonic mia last year when my skin was giving me all sorts of hell. i had just finished my final exams and my skin was acting crazy. like most people i tend i to break out when i'm stressed but the type of acne i had last year  scared the daylight out of  me.  I had a type of acne vulgaris, not mild acne or moderate acne but the worst type there  is. my face is acne free now thanks to the regimen , I will be talking all about that in an up coming post.

I got the mia in august 2011. I saved up for it went to selfridges closed my eyes and bought it!. I'd  read so many good reviews and seen people rave about it on youtube so I  honestly believed at the time that this was  going to be the answer to my prayers.

clarisonic mia

there are several types of clarisonic skin cleansing systems but i decided to get the  mia because it was the cheapest of the lot. the mia comes in a variety of different colors but i ended up getting  the blue one. I don't have the box it came in, i don't even think i came back  here with it. it would have taken up too much space in my box so i just threw it out. the box contained the following:
* the cordless clarisonic mia
*  a compact pLink international charger
*  a sensitive brush head
* 1 oz. trial size gentle hydro cleanser

clarisonic mia

clarisonic gentle hydro cleanser

I've not used this cleanser since I got it. I use the clarisonic  mia with my normal facial cleanser. I've seen very good reviews on this cleanser though so i don't think it's bad or anything.
clarisonic mia with charger

when i first got the mia, i used it every night to cleanse my face. I kept using this with my clinique anti-blemish cleanser and my face gradually started getting better. i was still breaking out though  but not as much as i used to.

I'm on something called the regimen now but I still use this to deep cleanse my face once in a while. I'd recommend using this once or twice a week for those with sensitive oily skin (which i think I have). people with dry skin could get away  with using  this daily though. I've learnt from experience that the more gentle I am with cleansing the better it is for my skin so i don't use this daily any more.

the mia deep cleanses and gently exfoliates the skin at the same time and that quite simply makes it idle for those of us who wear makeup. the clarisonic website claims that it cleanses 6 times better than with your hands alone in just 60 seconds. it's also gentle enough to be used twice daily.

HOW TO USE
first, i remove my makeup using makeup removing wipes. after that, I put some cleanser on my face then press the button on the mia and run the brush all over my skin. you don't need to go back and forth with the brush like you are scrubbing, just place it on your skin and let it do the job. the timer is set at 1 minute so the brush stops spinning after a minute.

WOULD I RECOMMEND THIS?
yes!, especially to those with acne prone skin.

please don't hesitate to comment or ask questions :-). i love feedback.xxx
