I almost walked past this collection because everything in it looked a bit meh! I sha decided to swatch the lipsticks and here we are.
For this collection, Mac teamed up with Chinese socialite, artist and jewelry designer, Bao Bao Wan.

I wasn't necessarily on the hunt for a new nude lipstick the day that I bought this but it swatched beautifully and that was enough. Romantic breakdown described by Mac as a sheer nude, is a light muted peach with hints of beige and very subtle shimmer. It has a Luster finish and believe me guys, when it comes to nude lipsticks for our skin tone, sheer luster is really the advisable way to go. If for nothing else they give you control and it is highly unlikely that you would ever go over board with something that was sheer in the first place. Mac's luster lipsticks apply better than most glosses I own and they are super creamy so you can conveniently skip the whole darker lip line process to control the color if you want to.

Romantic breakdown reminds me so much of 'Myself', a cool toned nude pink which was released in the Mac Novel romance collection last year. I used it my smoked plum tutorial if anyone is looking for reference. They both have the same consistency and they apply like a dream.

If you missed out on the Mac Novel Romance collection and are looking for a good nude lipstick, check out Romantic breakdown.
