Stila - In the know palette

I bought this on a whim. At the time that I purchased it, I was looking for a good neutral palette that I could use to create everyday looks. I had just purchased the Lorac pro palette but this looked like something that I could use to create an entire look without reaching outside it for another color.
I own just one neutral palette that consists of four colors and the colors are not even any way near neutral on me. The main problem I have with most neutral palettes including the popular ones owned by big brands is the fact that the colors are hardly ever neutral on chocolate skinned girls. I have almost payed for the urban Decay naked palettes more than once but I always change my mind last minute and I'm about to say it right now, those naked palettes are mostly always cult buys. I feel like people mostly buy them because everyone is buying them.

I bought this palette while I was in the states a few months back and it is still one of my favorite purchases from that trip. The colors are so pigmented and apply beautifully and I was a bit surprised at how good they were because I had heard little to nothing of the palette. It has ten matte shades and usually comes with an eyeliner. It has all the shades that I'd need to create a neutral look so I did not hesitate to buy it. I could easily see myself using the nude colors on top left on the lid and brow bone, the reddish brown and brown shade on the bottom left as transition colors and the colors on the far right to deepen my crease.

Product: Stila - In the know palette
Price: I bought it for $39 but I think that it is a bit cheaper now.
Where to buy: Stila products can be purchased from a lot of places including Selfridges and Asos

  1. Me too! I've almost bought the UD naked palettes so many times but held my self back. I've still not seen anything so special abou them. Plus, the colours are very dupable. Btw...nice review!

  3. I love Stila palettes but I have to disagree and stick up for the Urban Decay palettes. Yes, they're extremely hyped up but they are very good neutral palettes and their pigmentation is unparalleled imho. You should also have a gander at The Balm's "Meet Matte Nude" palette. It's another good matte palette that actually shows up on us!

  4. I hate hate hate my urban decay naked 2 palette. Total waste of money. All the colours tend to look thesame after blending and there is no good selection of matte and shimmer shades. Total waste of money.
Thanks for the Stila review anyway. I'll take another look at it
